Shamak and The Citizens Foundation

Shamak, which means “to make peace,” is a for-profit American sandal company whose primary social mission is to help underprivileged children around the world have access to an education regardless of class or financial standing. In order to do so, Shamak has worked to establish a lasting partnership with humanitarian organizations worldwide, such as The Citizens Foundation, that have deep experience and a long-term presence in the countries and communities they serve. Partnering with organizations like TCF have enabled us to reach  out to those children who need an education in the most impactful and sustainable way possible.

The Citizens Foundation is a proud member of the prestigious Clinton Global Initiative. The mission of CGI is to inspire, connect, and empower a community of global leaders to forge solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. CGI helped organizations like TCF to maximize their efforts to alleviate poverty, create a cleaner environment, and increase access to health care and education. CGI members have made nearly 2,000 commitments, which have already improved the lives of 300 million people in more than 180 countries.

Shamak is very transparent in regards to which organization we instill our trust in, and how our donations will be managed in a way to stay true to our core values and mission. This is why we made available the annual giving report of all our Leaving a Footprint partners. Shamak’s main objective is not in the promotion of NGOs who help put an end to illiteracy; rather, it is the objective of spreading awareness and creating solutions to illiteracy.
